At No.1 Barbers, we believe every child deserves patience, kindness and the same attention to detail we give our adult customers. Whether your child loves visiting the barber or finds haircuts challenging, our aim is to help them feel comfortable, supported and valued.

We are proud to share that both of our Milton Keynes barbershops have been recognised by SameAcres as Sensory Friendly Locations, welcoming children with autism and additional needs. We can now display the SameAcres recognition badge at our Fenny Stratford and Campbell Wharf locations, as well as across our social media platforms.

Over 15 years of supporting families in Bletchley

At No.1 Barbers in Fenny Stratford, Bletchley, we have been working with children on the autism spectrum and their families for over 15 years.

During that time, we have formed wonderful connections with families throughout the Milton Keynes community. Some of those relationships have grown from early childhood through the teenage years and into adulthood.

These connections mean a great deal to us. Getting to know a child over time helps us understand their preferences, build familiarity, routine and work with their family to make each visit a more positive experience.

For us, this support has long been part of what a local, community minded barbershop should offer.

When we opened No.1 Barbers Campbell Wharf in Central Milton Keynes, continuing this approach was a key part of our vision.

Our newest location shares the same commitment to welcoming children with additional needs and listening to their families. Across both shops, we understand that every child is different. What helps one child feel comfortable may be different from what helps another.

We welcome conversations about your child’s sensory sensitivities, communication preferences and previous haircut experiences, so we can discuss how best to support their appointment.

If your child has autism, sensory sensitivities or additional needs, please choose a “Long Appointment” for their first visit and add a booking note explaining anything you would like us to know. This gives us extra time to get acquainted and discuss what may help your child feel comfortable.
